Edge Financial News outlet issued a statement on Friday on behalf of Vincent Tan, a Malaysian businessman at lottery firm Berjaya Corporation Bhd, describing it as an "uncertain" report on the possibility of a second casino being built in Malaysia. Previous reports said the casino was to be installed in Forest City, which is struggling to develop properties in Malaysia's Johor province next to Singapore.

On Thursday, Malaysian political leader Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim described Bloomberg's report on the subject as "false" and "not true."

The Edge quoted Berjaya Corporation's comments on behalf of Tan on Friday: "The article in question contains inaccurate information we believe was involved in discussions with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim regarding the Forest City project, with articles titled 'Malaysia in negotiations with big names on casinos for the US $100 billion revival of Forest City' (Bloomberg LP) and 'Malaysia in review of Forest City casinos' (Edge Singapore)."

Referring to Tan's honorifics in Malaysia and his full Chinese name, the statement added: "Tan Sri Dato's Seri Vincent Tan Chi Youn was not involved in such discussions and would like to refute the inaccurate allegations presented in the article."

Lim Kok-Tai of global casino group Genting also reportedly attended the Forest City-themed meeting.

Meanwhile, Genting Malaysia Bhd said it was not involved in discussions about the possibility of opening a casino in Johor, the NewStraits Times reported, citing a company statement.

"Neither the company nor Tan Sri Rim were involved in such discussions or meetings, and the allegations are untrue," the company said in a statement. 무료슬롯사이트

"We ask all parties to immediately stop publishing and disseminating misinformation, delete untrue claims and provide clarification to the public to prevent further confusion," it added.

Genting currently operates Resorts World Genting, Malaysia's only casino resort, in the Genting Highlands outside the capital Kuala Lumpur.
